Cecil
O. Showalter, Jr.
Cecil
Showalter : Elder, Sunday School teacher, and willing worker
If you had the privilege of knowing Cecil
Showalter, You also had the opportunity of learning many important things
about life.
Cecil was consistent, kind and courageous. A
truck driver who was respected by his co-workers. A husband and father,
loved dearly by his wife, children and grandchildren. A committed churchman
who served as Elder, Sunday School teacher and a willing worker wherever
needed. A man who cared about his neighbors and community and with his wife
Joyce volunteered to help in various causes.
Whether volunteering for a cause or a single act
of kindness, Cecil never tooted his horn about what he did. He had a keen
sense of humor that made him enjoyable to be around. He is remembered for
the jokes he would read along with an encouraging devotional at the men's
monthly breakfast he faithfully conducted. His walk with God was obvious by
the consistent life he lived and the example he set as he courageously
struggled with cancer.
If we were observing? We had the opportunity to
learn a lot from him. Because of Cecil a lot of us will be better people
because he was with us and didn’t allow obstacles to get him down.
He will be missed by his church family
