Mark Martin became involved with Staunton Mennonite Church in
October 1964 while working as a Draftsman at Westinghouse Corp. Soon
after, he was ordained as deacon to assist Paul Kratz with the services.
He served faithfully in this capacity until September 1984. In October
1984 he became pastor of Woodlawn Mennonite Church at Basye, Virginia
where he and his wife Virginia served until 1989 when he retired at age
70. Mark and Virginia then attended
Trissels Mennonite Church
in Broadway, Virginia until the Lord called him home of
Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) on
August 2, 1994
