Kevin Gasser began his ministry at Staunton
Mennonite Church in July of 2006. Before moving to the Shenandoah
Valley, Kevin lived in Ohio where he received a Bachelor’s degree from
the Ohio State University. He has previously served with two other
churches, Sharon Mennonite in Plain City, Ohio, and Smithville Mennonite
in Smithville, Ohio.
Kevin and his wife Sonya are currently living in
Harrisonburg Virginia, while Kevin is completing a Master’s of Divinity
at Eastern Mennonite Seminary. Sonya is employed at Woodrow Wilson
Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville as an Occupational Therapist.
Kevin grew up on an Ohio Dairy farm, which continues to
be operated by his family. Sonya comes from a similar upbringing in the
plains of Nebraska. Together they enjoy watching and participating in
sports, spending time with friends, and trying new restaurants.
Kevin and Sonya are excited about the future that God has
in store for them in their ministry in the Staunton area, as well as
anywhere else God might desire.
On Sunday, October 22, 2006, an installation and
licensing service was held. Gordon Miller spoke followed by the
installation which was conducted by the Overseer, Howard Miller.
