David Peterson served as pastor of Staunton
Mennonite Church from May 1981 to May 1982. He is a 1981 graduate of
Eastern Mennonite College and a 2002 graduate of Malone Graduate School.
After serving at Staunton Mennonite, David would pastor a circuit
Mineral and Oak Grove Wesleyan churches in Virginia from December 1983
to June 1985. While at Mineral and Oak Grove, he worked full-time
at American Press in Gordonsville, Virginia. David transferred to a
sister denomination and moved to Pennsylvania where he was the pastor at
Park Ridge Free Methodist Church from June 1985 to June 1989. David was
transferred to Ohio and is served as pastor at the First Free Methodist
Church from June 1989 to June 2001. He now is enjoying working as a
substitute teacher and a tutor for Beaver Local Middle and High School.
Presently he is the pastor at LaCroft Church of the Nazarene.
Janet, David's Wife, is a RN and teaches full-time
nursing in the clinical lab at Kent State University in East Liverpool.
She is a part-time instructor in the LPN program at Columbiana County
Career Technical Center in Lisbon. Daughter, Rachel, is a high school
art teacher at Oak Glen High School in Chester, West Virginia. Daughter,
Leah, is married, a secretary for Calcutta Chamber of Commerce and a
student at Kent State University in East Liverpool and daughter, Sarah,
is a dental hygienist student at Youngstown State University. David
says, "God has richly blessed our family through life’s many changes and
challenges. He has proven faithful many times over. I have good memories
of the people at Staunton Mennonite Church. I thank them for their
patience and understanding as they learned to adjust to a novice pastor
fresh out of college."
