Announcements
Today we welcome Beryl and Margo Jantzi to our worship service. Beryl is
the overseer of the Southern District of Virginia Mennonite Conference and
the Director of Stewardship Education for Everence. Margo is the Library
Media Specialist at Cub Run Elementary School.
The Valley Mission is collecting Thanksgiving food boxes filled with
everything that is needed for a Thanksgiving meal for a family of
approximately six. Please help them provide this meal to our community’s
hungry families this year. Bring your filled box to the reception desk of
the Valley Mission, 1513 West Beverley Street, by Wednesday afternoon,
November 20th, 5:00pm. For more information call 540-886-4673. The items
and quantities needed for each Thanksgiving food box are posted on the
bulletin board.
Mennonite Central Committee has begun its response to Typhoon Haiyan,
providing funding for immediate needs and supporting partners in an
initial assessment team and determining needs for long-term recovery. To
donate to this effort, please go to mcc.org/typhoon-response. Thank you
for your prayers for people grieving and suffering in the storm's wake.
