Gathering
All:
We’ve come to worship God.
Leader: Not the unknown god of the Athenians but the God
who made the world and everything in it, the One
who is Lord of heaven and earth, the One who gives
all mortals life and breath and all things.
People: This is the God who is known to us. Indeed, this
God is not far from each one of us and will not leave
us orphaned.
Leader: For it is in God that we live and move and have our
being.
All: This is the God we worship!

Proclaiming
We are God’s offspring.
Though God has overlooked times
of human ignorance when they thought the deity is like gold,
silver, stone, or an image formed by the art and imagination of
mortals, God now commands all people everywhere to repent
because a day has been fixed on which God will have the world
judged in righteousness.
Those who keep Jesus’ commandments are those who love

Praying
Blessed be you, O God,
because you have not rejected our
prayers or removed your steadfast love from us. We will come
into your house with our offerings. We will pay you our vows,
those that our lips have uttered and our mouths promised
when we were in trouble.
If we had cherished iniquity in our hearts, the Lord would
not have listened. But God truly has listened and has given
heed to the words of our prayer. Amen.

Today we continue a series on “Redeeming Revelation.” The
sermons will build upon one another, so if you miss one, make sure to find
it at
http://mennochurch.net/sermons/sermons14.htm, where both full-text
and audio versions can be accessed.
Our church’s roof is in need of some attention. Any additional financial
contributions are appreciated to help cover the cost of the repairs.
Are you interested in supporting a missionary in a very practical way?
Sylvia Yoder has a list of ways that you can contribute to missionaries
from Thailand to Harrisonburg through Mennonite Women of Virginia.
There will be a prayer meeting at Staunton Mennonite this Wednesday
beginning at 7:00 pm.
You are invited to a time of Harmonia Sacra singing on Sunday, June 1 at
6:30 pm, at Hildebrand Mennonite Church. Books are available for those who
do not have their own. Enjoy this evening of singing old hymns in the
wonderful acoustics of this historic church building. Contact Mim Wenger
with questions (540-241-0461).
Our church children have been invited to participate in Vacation Bible
School at Springdale (June 15-19, 6pm, meal at 5:30) and Lynside (June
