No one truly
knows Christ unless they follow Him daily in life" -
Hans Denck
Thank you for joining us in worship
today. If this is your first time at Staunton Mennonite,
please fill out the “Welcome” card in the back of the pew and place
it in the offering plate. |
Let
us love . . . in truth and action
Proclaiming
Child: How do I
know what love is?
Leader: This is how we know: by looking at Jesus.
People: Jesus welcomed sinners, healed the sick, fed the hungry.
He cared so much for us that he gave his own life.
Child: How do I know if I’m following Jesus?
Leader: This is how you know: by how much you love others.
People: God’s command is simple—believe in the name of
Jesus, and love others the same way Jesus loved us.
Child: That sounds hard! How can I do that all by myself?
Leader: This is how you know you are not alone:
by the Spirit of Jesus that lives in us.
People: Jesus loves you. He calls you. His Spirit will guide you
always.
Offering
Gentle Shepherd, how graciously you have provided for us.
How tenderly you lead us. You have brought us to streams of
mercy; you have sheltered us in safe places. You provide for
our needs. As you have loved, we want to love—and so we
give back to you. Accept this offering from those who want to
be your sheep. Amen.
Witnessing/Sending
As we go from
here, may we bear witness to the cornerstone
of our faith. The world cannot accept the One who chose to lay
down his own life and who calls us to do the same. And yet, it
is that very life, living in us, that has the power to transform the
world. Like Peter and John, let us love in truth and action, so
the world may know the One by whom we may be saved.
