All
the earth is filled with God’s glory
Gathering
Leader: The angels
shout, “God is amazing!” when they see
God’s glory, when they see God’s strength.
People: May the Lord give strength to his people! May the
Lord bless his people with peace!
Leader: The voice of the Lord thunders over the waters; powerful
and full of majesty.
People: May the Lord give strength to his people! May the
Lord bless his people with peace!
Leader: The Lord’s voice crashes through the trees, flashes in the
wilderness, and rattles the land.
People: May the Lord give strength to his people! May the
Lord bless his people with peace!
Leader: The Lord reigns over the floods; the Lord reigns over
creation; the Lord reigns over all peoples.
People: May the Lord give strength to his people! May the
Lord bless his people with peace!
Affirming Faith
This is the truth: no one can see the kingdom of God without
being born from above.
This is the truth: no one can enter the kingdom of God without
being born of both water and Spirit.
This is the truth: we know what we say and we know what we
see—Jesus is lifted up and when we believe we will be lifted
up to eternal life.
This is the truth: God so loved the world that he gave his only
Son, so that anyone who believes will not die, but will have
eternal life.
Praying
God, though we live in the flesh, we walk by your Spirit. Give
us strength to bury the actions that make our spirits die. Give
us courage to fight the fears that hinder our journey with
Christ. Give us power to shout your grace, the Spirit’s promise,
and Christ’s glory! Amen.
