My
grace is sufficient for you
Gathering
Do you come to
worship today looking up or looking down?
Are you looking up in hope?
Are you looking down because of the struggles of this life?
Lift up your eyes! Lift them up to the one who is enthroned
in the heavens. Let us lift up our eyes together in worship
this day.
For God desires to shower us with mercy.
Affirming Faith
Leader: When God calls us to ministry,
People: it is seldom to a life of honor and recognition.
Leader: When God calls us to ministry,
People: it is often to a life of humility and service.
Leader: Sometimes we are given visions of the heavens,
People: but most times we live among the thorns.
All: All in all, God’s grace is sufficient for us,
for God’s power is made perfect in weakness.
Offering
Merciful God, you never promised your followers lives of ease
and comfort. Even your own Son was despised and rejected.
But like him, we offer all that we have and all that we are to
you. In doing so, may your Holy Spirit descend upon us, enter
us, and teach us the way of eternal life. Amen.
