Seek
peace, and pursue it
Gathering
Wisdom invites us
to her table. She calls us to live and walk in
the way of insight. The Lord calls us to fear him, for those who
seek the Lord lack no good thing. Jesus offers us the bread of
his broken body and the drink of his shed blood. All who accept
his sacrifice will be filled with his Spirit.
Come to the table set for you. Abide in Jesus and he will
abide in you!
Witnessing
Leader: When you face a school bully and are pressured
to fight back, what will you do?
Children/youth: We will seek peace and run after it!
Leader: When political leaders call on you to fight
with military power, how will you demonstrate
your loyalty to Christ?
Younger adults: We will search for peace and maintain it!
Leader: When it seems like you are alone in your
prayers for peace, how will you express hope?
Older adults: We will strive for peace and promote it!
Leader: When human greed and violence destroy
the good earth God gave us to steward, how
will you live as God’s created and redeemed
children?
All: We will seek peace and pursue it!
Praying
God of all wisdom and life, you have called us to turn from
evil and do good, to seek peace and proclaim it to this hurting
world. Guide us as we search for peace and make us both bold
and joyful as we pursue our calling to represent Christ to our
world. Amen.
