Waters shall break forth in the wilderness
Affirming Faith
All my life I will
sing praise to you, my God. When I am
down low, you give me a ladder. When my stomach growls,
you give me food. When I am imprisoned, you open doors.
When my vision is blurry, you give me lenses. When I am
troubled, you offer hope. When I am in a new place, you watch
over me. When I am lost, you hold me tight.
All my life, at all times, in all places, and with all generations,
I will sing praise to you, my Lord God.
Confessing/Reconciling
I
confess, Lord God, that I have failed to always love you
and others. Forgive me for choosing gold rings when my neighbor’s
children have no shoes. Forgive me for putting my needs
above the least of these. Forgive me for dishonoring the poor
and failing to see the world through your eyes.
Show me how to love my neighbors. Heal my selfishness.
Help me find waters of justice in the wilderness of need. Amen.
Sending
Leader: As we go, we hear God say,
All: “Be strong, do not fear! I will come to save you.”
Leader: Then our eyes and ears will be opened.
All: We will leap like deer and shout for joy.
Leader: Waters will gush forth in the wilderness.
Streams will flow in the desert.
All: Burning sands will become cool pools,
and our great God, our great and wonderful God,
will turn thirsty ground into bubbling springs.
