His
life an offering
Gathering
From out of the
wilderness, come.
Come, you who call out for rescue.
The Lord is here among us.
The Lord gathers us in and bids us welcome.
The Lord will show us salvation.
Confessing/Reconciling
Leader: Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried our
diseases; yet we accounted him stricken, struck down by
God, and afflicted.
People: Lord, we have all gone astray;
we have all turned to our own way.
(silence)
Leader: The Lord speaks: Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble;
I will rescue them and honor them.
Offering
What do we know of offering?
We offer our money and our talents and our time,
sometimes without thinking,
sometimes begrudgingly,
to be used for the work of your church.
But you, O Christ, offered up prayers, supplications,
and ultimately your life for the world.
May we offer this small token
with intention,
with hope,
in remembrance and honor of your love for the world.
Amen. — Emily Toews, Drake, Saskatchewan
