If you have not yet taken a poinsettia home from the front

Please pray for:

• Our church family as we begin the new year!
• Norma’s nephew, Wayne Wentworth, and his family as they deal with

  discouraging news about his cancer.

The true light

Call to Worship

Leader: Arise, shine; your light has come.
People: God’s glory has risen upon us.
Leader: Even if darkness should cover the earth,
deep darkness cover the peoples,
People: nations shall come to your light,
kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Leader: Nothing can hide God’s glorious light.
All: Let us look to God and be radiant.
Let us reflect the brightness of this dawning.

Praying

O God, the source of all insight, whose coming was revealed
to the nations not among men of power but on a woman’s lap,
give us grace to see you where you may be found. Like the magi
of old, we bring our gifts to you. We offer what gifts we have
to you in their variety, that they may be used in your service.
Amen. - adapted from Sing the Story #139, #140

Sending

People of God, let your light shine.
The light of Christ is in you and among you,
guiding you and blessing you,
now and always. Amen.
