You
are precious in my sight
Praising/Adoring
Leader: You are
the God of glory and strength!
We worship you in holy splendor.
People: You are the God who created and formed us.
You have redeemed us, you have called us by name;
we are yours.
Leader: Your voice, O Lord, thunders over the waters.
It flashes forth flames of fire.
People: The waters will not overwhelm us,
the fire will not consume us.
Leader: Your voice, O Lord, shakes the wilderness
and makes us say, “Glory!”
People: We are precious in your sight, honored, and loved.
All: Give strength to your people and bless us with peace.
Confessing/Reconciling
God of creative love, we confess that we sometimes forget that
you have made us precious.
The waters of measuring-up overwhelm us.
The fires of self-criticism consume us.
We struggle to be worthy to untie the thong of Jesus’ sandal,
but you just tear open the heavens to be close to us.
(silent prayer)
You have formed us and called us by name, and you call out
to us: “You are my beloved children; with you I am well
pleased.” Amen.
Sending
You are loved, you are precious in God’s sight, and you have
been called by name. Go without fear and bless others with
peace! — Alissa Bender, Hamilton, Ontario
