Today we welcome Jerry Dove to our worship service. Jerry serves as a chaplain to the local chapter of the Gideons. You are welcome to see Jerry after the service to make a donation to this organization.

There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for those who would like to provide a meal for Marvin and Florence Showalter. Please call Marvin at 540-943-2136 to arrange delivery of the meal.

Church Council will meet this Wednesday, 7:00 pm. Devotions: Nelson.

The annual Southern District Hymn Sing will be held March 20 at Springdale Mennonite, beginning at 6:00pm. This service will focus on “Hymns of Praise and Celebration of God’s Mission,” as we will hear musical selections from our congregations, as well as stories of local ministries affiliated with Virginia Mennonite Missions. Please bring a light snack to share after the service. A free-will offering will be taken for Virginia Mennonite Missions.

• Sylvia’s mother as she recovers after a recent hospitalization.
• Marvin Showalter as he heals from bilateral knee surgery.

Day and night your hand is heavy upon us and our strength dries up as in the heat of summer. Then, when we acknowledge our sin to you, and do not hide our iniquity, you forgive the guilt of our sin. Therefore, we offer our prayer and worship to you. Assurance In times of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach us. God is a hiding place for us—preserving us from trouble and surrounding us with glad cries of deliverance. Amen. Sending May we turn toward the open arms of Christ and his ways and receive his good news of reconciliation. As we turn, may we experience and share the grace of his healing forgiveness.
