There
is a new creation
Call
to Worship
Leader: Many are
the torments of the wicked,
All: but steadfast love surrounds those who
trust in the Lord.
Leader: Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous,
All: and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
Confessing/Reconciling
While we keep
silent, our bodies waste away through our groaning
all day long.
Day and night your hand is heavy upon us and our strength dries up
as in the heat of summer. Then, when we acknowledge our sin to you,
and do not hide our iniquity, you forgive the guilt of our sin.
Therefore,
we offer our prayer and worship to you.
Assurance
In times of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach us.
God is a hiding place for us—preserving us from trouble and surrounding
us with glad cries of deliverance. Amen.
Sending
May we turn toward the open arms of Christ and his ways and
receive his good news of reconciliation. As we turn, may we experience
and share the grace of his healing forgiveness.
