So
that your love for me might be in them
Proclaiming
Leader: Jesus declares, “I am coming soon. I am the Alpha and Omega,
beginning and end, the bright morning star.”
People: We have washed our robes, so we may enter the city gates.
Leader: The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.”
People: Everyone who hears says, “Come.”
Leader: Let all who are thirsty come and receive the water of life.
All: Surely, Jesus is coming soon. Come, Lord Jesus!
Affirming Faith
We declare our faith in the almighty God,
who releases us from the grip of evil,
who hears our cries in moments of despair,
who gives us reason to sing when we fear for our lives,
who shakes the foundations of oppressive systems,
who bursts open doors that were bolted shut,
who unfastens chains that held us captive.
We believe in the power of our God!
Praying
You, O Lord, are exalted over all the earth.
You rule over the darkness, fire, and lightning.
(silent prayers for God to rule over darkness and destruction)
Mountains melt like wax before you.
(silent prayers for God to crumble difficult situations)
We are glad and rejoice because of your righteous judgments.
(silent prayers of remembering God’s acts of justice)
Send light to dawn upon us; give our hearts joy. In your holy name.
Amen.
