Your
faith has saved you
Gathering
Leader 1: Weary
pilgrims, men and women, children and elders, welcome
home.
Leader 2: Lay down your weeks of work and school, play, and struggle.
Leader 1: Here in the circle of God’s spacious favor,
Leader 2: here amongst your brothers and sisters,
Leader 1: let your souls stretch wide and yawn.
Leader 2: Let all that has gone before—shame, fear, anger, and unholy
thoughts—
Both: be restored to wholeness by Christ’s welcoming love.
Confession/Reconciling
All: Open our hearts to you, God. Our transgressions have dried
us up as the heat of drought. Our hearts wither in that place
of hidden sin. We love little.
(silence)
Leader: Friends, to you whose sins are many, great love is offered. You
are forgiven. Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.
Offering
As the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears, so may our
acts of kindness in the world, and these offerings of our firstfruits, be
as
extravagant. We offer our small lives as a token of gratitude. You have
given us everything, Gracious One. Make us living channels of your
great love, poured through us into our everyday worlds. Amen.
