Bless
the Lord
Gathering
Come, delight in
the Sabbath and worship with praise and
thanksgiving.
Come, honor the Sabbath and keep it holy with reverence and awe.
The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs.
The Lord will break through the darkness with life-giving light.

All: Bless the Lord! With all that is within us, we bless God’s holy
name!
Confessing
Holy and patient God,
forgive us when we think more of ourselves than of others;
when we satisfy our own wishes
and remain unobservant of the needs around us.
We claim to be your followers,
yet our neighbors are hungry and thirsty;
longing for warm clothes, a friendly visit, or just a warm smile.
Nudge us to action, Lord,
so that we exhibit the same love and compassion
to others that you have shown to us.
In the name of our compassionate Jesus. Amen.
