The
Lord lifts up
Praising
Leader: Come, let
us praise our God! Let us praise God as long
as we live.
Men: We do not need to trust in earthly rulers, but in God,
who made heaven and earth and all there is.
Women: We will trust in God, the faithful one, who brings justice
for those who are oppressed and gives food to the
hungry,
Men: the one who sets the prisoners free and opens the eyes of
the blind,
Women: the one who lifts up those who are worn down, and
watches over the strangers, orphans, and widows.
All: The ways of those who do evil will end, but our God
will remain steadfast forever. Praise the Lord!
Offering
Generous God, it is easy to say that all we have is yours. Yet too
often we fail to look beyond our doors and acknowledge all those
outside our walls whom you love and care for. Open our hearts
and our spirits. Help us to share your gifts and your goodness
freely, gladly, and generously. Amen.
Praying
(unison)
O
God, our God, help us to find contentment in you.
Help us to not be lured away, endlessly seeking more and more and
more.
Help us to be humble and courageous enough to trust in you,
ready to share your goodness and love with our neighbors.
For we know this is the way to build a strong foundation
and a rich life full of many treasures. Amen.
