Learn
to do good
Confessing/ Reconciling
We want to do
good.
We desire to seek justice.
We want to speak out for those who are not able do so.
Yet sometimes we fall short.
We are not always sincere in our actions and with our offerings.
Sometimes we do not listen to what the Lord asks of us. We are
not always faithful in doing the Lord’s will. We confess our sins
to the Lord.
(silent confessions)
The Lord is a hiding place for us, preserving us from trouble and
surrounding us with glad cries of deliverance. Happy are those
whose sins are forgiven.
Praying
God, we give thanks for our sisters and brothers gathered today.
May our love for each other, and our faith in you, grow so that we
remain steadfast and worthy of your call. We desire that our lives
glorify you so that your name is praised. Help us to do good, seek
justice, and rescue the oppressed. With your help and grace, O
God, we can be faithful witnesses for you. Amen.
Sending
Leader: As we leave this space and return to our homes, our
neighbors, and our work, may the name of our Lord
Jesus be glorified in us.
People: May we be faithful and gracious.
All: May we be worthy of God’s call.
Leader: Go in peace.
