Springdale Mennonite invites us to join in their School for Christian Living. Classes are Wednesday at 6:30 pm and run through February. Sessions will address the following questions (and others) through Bible study, discussion, and study of the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective and other resources:

• What do we mean by “believer’s baptism”?
• What is an appropriate age for baptism . . . 10, 16, 21?
• Why can’t someone be baptized without becoming a member?
• Is membership still a useful concept?
• What about inactive members?
• Should children be invited to receive communion?

Please pray for:

• Marlene’s niece, Carmen, and her three daughters, as Carmen undergoes
brain surgery in Boston on Monday and Tuesday.

John 1:39, “He said to them, ‘Come and see.’ They came and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. It was about four o’clock in the afternoon.”

Come and see

Gathering

On this day of holy revealing,
come and see the Lamb of God, who takes away sin,
come and see the one upon whom the Spirit descended,
come and see the one who baptized with the Spirit,
come and see the one whom you are seeking.

Witnessing

Leader: We give witness
People: to the Lord who hears our cries.
Leader: We give witness
People: to the Lord who lifts us up.
Leader: We give witness
People: to the Lord who gives a new song.
Leader: We give witness
People: to the Lord who helps us.
All: We will speak of God’s faithfulness
and delight in God’s will.

Sending

We have seen and we have heard of the faithfulness of our God.
Go now and speak of these things to others.
The grace of God is upon you.
— Kathy Giesbrecht, Winnipeg, Manitoba
